As believers, we have been set free from the power of sin but still must strive against its presence in our lives. Some areas are clearly marked out in Scripture, but others we like to call “gray areas.” Well, there’s an answer for those, too. According to Ephesians 5:10, we have no excuse in saying, “I didn’t know,” or “The Bible doesn’t say.” We are to be “trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.” If we are walking by the Spirit and trying to please the Lord, there will be no “gray areas.”
The only way we will have lasting victory over sin is to hide (memorize, meditate and obey) God’s Word in our hearts according to Psalm 119:11, and to walk continually by the Spirit according to Galatians 5:16. We can overcome sin, but only by God’s power. It’s our responsibility to prepare for battle. Start with the key verses below.
